i can't make you love me...

If you love me, won’t you let me know?

therealpadmapatil:

She laughed, “And it’s always been you for me,” she said, her eyes on him. Her eyes never left him, wondering if this was just a dream where she could finally be happy. She couldn’t handle it if it was a dream. To think that the one thing she has always wanted was now in the palm of her hand. How many days, months, years has she been waiting for this? The revelation was so fresh in her mind that the fact that this was really happening hit her in a way of happiness and bliss. Why hadn’t she finally realised? So long it was them, so long it was meant to be them but she never realised it- never said anything.

But they were perfect for one another. God, all this time she thought she would be sad and alone forever- but he was always here. They were always the one that were meant to be. With a smile she held his hand, as if it was the first time she has ever touched him. She looked at him with fresh eyes and a fresh heart. He was Michael Corner, the man, the one she wanted to spend forever with. She didn’t say anything for the longest time, but dwelled in the realness of what was going on. Michael Corner, the one she thought was just going to be her best friend- had opened his heart to her. She knew there would be troubles ahead and she knew once they left they would have to tell people. Their smiles at one another was so knowing already that the moment she walked into the castle she knew they would all realise what had occured.

In her nightmares, she had told him how she felt but he had not returned them. In her darkest of places she was without him. But with him she saw nothing but light and love and happiness. Sure she could feel the ghost of tears in her eyes but that told him nothing but how long she had been waiting for this, how long she had been aching to be finally loved by him. It was ridiculous to think that it was always there all along, hidden from the light. So long she had been trying to find another and so had he- but they were always meant to be. “Inevitable,” she whispered softly. They were inevitable. She knew he understood what she meant and he smiled a little. Her fingertips traced over his lips, feeling how soft and warm they were. She never thought she would ever kiss him, ever hold him like she had always wanted and now she could. Now she was brave. Now she was strong and it was all because she had finally learnt to be vulnerable.

Yes, she decided, they were inevitable.

Not even the Dark Lord or Fenrir Greyback could take them apart now. No, now that they were finally enslaved to their emotions, now that the truth was finally set free- they could do nothing but be together. It was deeper and darker than any poison, stronger than hate and deadlier than fate- it was the one thing she knew she would die for, the one person she knew she would give up the world and then some to. She wiped a tear from her eye, feeling silly. A part of her felt like she was meeting Michael for the first time. It was like they were finally given a chance. And in this world and the next, she would always find a way to him and he to her. They were inevitable after all.

"Always…" He agreed with her as he gulped slightly, still not truly being able to believe his own… could he call it luck? She had said yes, to him, to the poor boy whom nobody really loved. Or so he thought, anyway. He was just a poor orphan boy, with nothing and nobody at his side other than a man full of lies and hurt. He was broken, completely and utterly, but it was her who fixed him. It was her who sat for years and years, finding each and every piece, no matter how far or how wide she would have to travel, and she would sit and put each and every piece back together. Whether good, whether bad, or whether downright messy, she would do that.

And that’s when he truly knew.

"I love you… and that’s all that matters." and it was true; it was all that mattered to him, anyway. Fenrir? Voldemort? The bad times? The war? The hatred? The violence? The inevitable battles that lie ahead of them? None of them mattered to him, not any more, so long as him and Padma got out of it safely. Of course, he wished the same on all of his friends, but if anybody deserved a happy life, it was Padma. His Padma, and Michael would give it to her, until his dying day.

That was surely a promise that he would, and could, keep.

i took my love down to violet hill: “We’ve… waited for a very long time.” He admitted with a soft chuckle...

“We’ve… waited for a very long time.” He admitted with a soft chuckle as he kept his eyes fixated to her own, simply for the fear that if he were to tear his gaze away, even so much as to blink, she would not be there. But she was; she was there, sitting beside him, holding his hands, kissing…

“That’s what I was scared of… of you falling in love.” He admitted softly as he looked over to her. “It was a thought that always… haunted me, in a way, and then… Eddie, and… then I was shy and… I wasn’t sure if you’d ever love me as much as you loved him, and…” He blushed slightly.

“Talking too much.”

She laughed, “Michael, I don’t think I could ever love anyone as much as I love you. I can’t love anyone as much as I love you. You’ve had years with me, many many years. You will always be the one I love the most.”

“I’ll always choose you, regardless of what’s at stake, or any other choices. It will always be you.”

"You never know, though… I thought… you know…" He shook his head simply as he looked over to her, smiling softly as he did so, before he finally let out another small laugh. He had been pretty stupid really… hadn’t he? Why did he wait? Why didn’t he grow a pair of balls and ask her beforehand? Now, there was no point dwelling on it, and so he simply smiled at her as he leaned forward to gently kiss her once more.

"I love you, Padma… and… well, I don’t really care who knows that. Everyone knows, really. It’s always been you, hasn’t it?"

"Yes," she smiled. "That would be perfect," she laughed, finding herself chuckling. She kissed his forehead, then moved closer to his lips. At first it was only soft, playful until she added a little more need into the kiss. She kissed him a little harder and she let go, her hands playing on the side of his face. She shook her head, "I wonder if you know how long I’ve been waiting to do that," she smiled, feeling a blush on her cheeks begin to grow but it subsided. She was not embarrassed. Not even close to embarrassed. This was Michael! Her best friend since forever, the one she loved for the longest time. Through happiness and through sadness he had been the one person who’d always loved her in her worst. He knew the most about her, anywhere and everywhere. He was so engrained in her and she wondered what life would be like if she had not met him, if they were not friends. She would surely not be as happy as she was now, with their fingers intertwined.

She was still scared, of course. How would she tell Parvati? How would she tell everybody? She had always rolled her eyes when they giggled and teased about the closeness of their relationship. She could never think such things about them. Best friends, brothers and sisters- how could she not see that something was going to happen between them? How was she so blind to it all? Poor her, unsure of what she wanted- but now it was clear. All it took was a summer apart to realise what was important. And it was obvious, was it not, that together they were the most important thing? She laughed, shaking her head. She looked at him, as if ready to ask a question but it seemed silly to ask him about his pending relationship between him and Ria at such a blissful happy time. Today was too perfect to break with her jealousy and uncertainty.

"We’ve missed dinner," she laughed, as if it was important. She wondered if people were wondering where they were now. The girls and boys in the Ravenclaw table wondering where they were. She wondered who was sitting in their usual spot, and if they were as happy as they were at this moment. She kissed his forehead once again, so glad to be free from her fear of getting hurt. She was terrified that her love for him would disappear. So long, friendship and their togetherness was all she wanted. But now, after this, she craved, she needed more. She needed something more than life had wished for them- or had this always been their fate?

"Who would’ve guessed? You and me?" she smiled, looking down, another blush on her cheeks.

"We’ve… waited for a very long time." He admitted with a soft chuckle as he kept his eyes fixated to her own, simply for the fear that if he were to tear his gaze away, even so much as to blink, she would not be there. But she was; she was there, sitting beside him, holding his hands, kissing his face, feeling the exact same feelings he felt inside himself for so long, and now that it was open, he laughed. He laughed and laughed at how stupid they’d been, how many years they’d… he wouldn’t say wasted. They weren’t wasted years… just not fully spent. But that was all going to change for them now… wasn’t it?

"It’s only been a dream for me, to be honest… i’d never have guessed you’d say… yes…" He blushed slightly as he finally cast his gaze downward, only to snap his head back up to see her in full view once more. "We’re silly."

"Shut up and take it."

Something you wanna share with your lil sis, Mike?

“I…” That one question stunned him into completely silence as he gazed up at her; how long? It was as if she had read his mind in the very instant, but rather than getting the answer she longed for, she chose to question it, just for her to hear him admit that it had been from the very moment he…

"We can… try?" He suggested with a smile. "We don’t have to tell nobody until we’re ready, silly… because it’s just me and you! I mean, unless you want to tell peoples, then I will go with you, and then it’ll be less scary… because there’ll be two of us, and… things with you are less scary anyway." He said as he squeezed her hand tightly.

"Is that… that okay?"

"Shut up and take it."

A new year. A new time frame for people to piss her off.

Summer has been less than kind to her. Spending time with her father was great and amazing. Not being able to see her boyfriend? Downside. Having her uncle and her aunt die before her eyes? Also a downside. Not being able to track down the killer because he used a semi-automatic weapon inside of magic? Also a downside.

She was tempted to cut a bitch and fillet the flesh off his bones and feed it to her father’s mutts.

“KATIE BELL!” Michael yelled the very moment he saw her, despite her looking more than angry. He ran up to her and he hugged her tight as he began his usual speech. “HOW ARE YOU WAS SUMMER GOOD DID YOU ENJOY IT I MISSED YOU SO MUCH THIS MUCH ACTUALLY PANSY WAS SAFE AND SOUND ALL SUMMER JUST LIKE YOU MADE ME PROMISE AND I LOVE YOU KATIE BELL!”

Katie tensed up when Michael hugged her. She wasn’t fond of human companionship at the current moment. “That’s great, Michael.” she said, prying herself off of him. “I told you things would be fine, so next time just stop your worrying and listen, okay?” She said, trying to keep her voice leveled.

…Katie Bell didn’t use Mikey.

"Something’s wrong."

therealpadmapatil:

“How long?” she asked him, confused. They were best friends. For so many years. They were the best and truest friends in the universe. When did such feelings begin to form? When did his heart begin to beat this was for her? Had it not been just the summer before when they were in her house, laughing and smiling around? Had it not been just two months before when they considered one another brother and sister? They had been the best friends in the whole world, surely they could handle them being more? She smiled softly, her hand on his cheek still, her eyes still on him. She couldn’t help but look at him again, look at every curve and dip of his face, the way his eyes continued to shine regardless of how dark or how light the day was. The way he was completely and utterly beautiful without an ounce of trying. How could she not see how life has touched him, tarnished him but he fought them away and continued to be his regular beautiful self? How could she not, until now, fully appreciate his transition into becoming a man?

She kept her eyes on him as problems begin to arise in her mind, as they so often did. What would she tell her parents? Her sister? Did they think it wrong or right the way they felt for one another? Would they even care? Surely Michael wanted more than a kiss, yes? But if so, what about Astoria- or any other girl that he fancied? What about Theo- she doubted he would allow her to tell Michael what they were doing behind anybody’s backs. But she couldn’t lie to him, could she? She hoped he wasn’t going to ask about her secret once more, hoping he would guess that her crush for him was it. She couldn’t bare to lie to him, but she couldn’t allow him to stop her, call her a martyr and despise her for her actions. With a sigh, her hand moved to his chest.

“I think I’ve loved you for a very long time but I just haven’t realised it,” she smiled at him, unable to say anything more with the emotions nipping at her chest, screaming at her to say something, to say the truth. She kissed his lips softly once more, terrified of losing him. “I don’t want us to drift away. I..I thought it was for simple things but it can be more, if you want it to.”

"I…" That one question stunned him into completely silence as he gazed up at her; how long? It was as if she had read his mind in the very instant, but rather than getting the answer she longed for, she chose to question it, just for her to hear him admit that it had been from the very moment he met, for it was true. The moment they met was a moment that tied them together in ways that Michael didn’t know nor understand, and he never would understand them until he himself had grown and experienced life the way he always should have. He gulped at the thought of it, thinking of all the wasted years that he could have told her this in, but telling her beforehand wouldn’t have been true, for he didn’t have a clue what it was, not until it was so sure, so very certain, that it practically smacked him right across the face.

"A… a very, very long time, Padma." He admitted as a soft blush crept to his cheeks once more. "Long enough for me to realise." He added with a chuckle as he gazed at her features, noticing the slight furrow in her brow that she always did when she was thinking, and he couldn’t help but wonder what she was thinking about; was she ready for this? Was she even… interested in such things? Michael didn’t really know, in all honesty, but he could see that, somehow, part of the beauty was not knowing, though not knowing also brings fear to him and anybody in his position, he assumed. With his feelings out, there was nothing more that could be said, other than the completely obvious.

"I… I like more." He smiled at her.
